Nick Castle is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor best known for his iconic portrayal of Michael Myers in John Carpenter’s classic horror film Halloween (1978).
Castle attended the University of Southern California (USC), where he studied film and befriended future collaborators like John Carpenter. While working on Halloween, Castle landed the role of Michael Myers, referred to as "The Shape," largely due to his friendship with Carpenter. His subtle and eerie performance as the masked killer became a defining element of the film's lasting success.
Beyond acting, Nick Castle has had a prolific career as a filmmaker and writer. He directed films such as The Last Starfighter (1984) and Dennis the Menace (1993) and co-wrote the cult classic Escape from New York (1981) with Carpenter. Castle reprised his role as Michael Myers in cameo appearances for the 2018 Halloween sequel and its follow-ups, Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022), cementing his legacy in horror cinema.
